Introduction.
The CPU upgrade kit does not come with CPU. You need to install CPU and set jumper on the upgrade kit.
Step 1.
Make sure your computer is turned off before you open the case. Caution: Static electricity can cause serious damage to integrated circuit chips. Avoid building up a static electricity charge in your body by touching a grounded object before you touch the chips and at frequent intervals as you handle the chips.
Open the case. Some cases might not have enough clearance to fit in the upgrade kit assembly
which has a total height of 4.8 cm. Please check the case first to see if the kit will fit.
Step 2.
To remove old CPU by pulling the ZIF socket lever out to the side and then raising it.
Then lift out the CPU.![]()
Step 3.
PGA type adaptorZIF type adaptor
Position the new CPU over the adapter.
For ZIF TYPE- adaptor:
Step A.
Carefully position the new CPU and align the pin 1 corners of the CPU and the adapter.![]()
Step B.
Push the included lever firmly, vertically into the "close" (left) slot.![]()
Step C.
Press firmly on the top of the CPU for connection with the adapter and push the lever to the
right as shown.![]()
Step D.
Please check if the CPU can be lifted by hand. At this point the CPU should be firmly attached
to the socket and should not be able to be removed by hand.
For PGA TYPE- adaptor:
Step A. Carefully position the new CPU and align the pin 1 corners of the CPU and the adapter.![]()
Step B. Press firmly on the top of the CPU so that the CPU will become attached to the adapter.![]()
Step 4.
Please follow the jumper setting table shown on the printed circuit board.![]()
*Caution* Setting incorrect jumper settings will damage the CPU.
V-Core voltage and Clock multiplier settings will be based on your new CPU model.
A. Use J4, J5, or J6 to set the CPU V-Core Voltage. (only one jumper can be set)
B. Use J1, J2, or J3 to set the Clock Multiplier. (a combination of jumpers can be set)
Check your new CPU (Intel P55C, AMD-K6, Cyrix M2) speed and brand before setting jumpers
on the motherboard and upgrade kit.
The jumper table is printed on the bottom of upgrade kit printed circuit board.
AMD cpu core voltage and clock multipier table.
The following table shows the upgrade kit jumper setting for partial list of cpu types:

Step 5.
Connect the power cable to the 4-pin power connector. Make sure to align the yellow line to the
correct position
(refer to the picture below).
Step 6.
Carefully position the adapter assembly and align the pin 1 corners of the CPU and the ZIF socket.
Step 7.
Place the adapter into the ZIF socket 5 or 7, push down the lever to buckle up the adapter assembly
into the ZIF socket.
Step 8.
Buckle the attached fan to the ZIF socket as show in figure 1 and 2.

Step 9.
Connect the adapter power connector to the system power supply and the fan power connector to the
power supply connector.
Step 10.
Check all cable connections, then put the computer case back on and power on your PC.
